Claims by the Labour Party that there are plans to raise GP fees are being shot down by the government.
Labour MP Ruth Dyson has made the allegations because of a direction made to Primary Health Organisations to find savings of $25 million.
Dyson believes it will be a case of raising GP fees to find the savings but a spokesman for Health Minister Tony Ryall says the government has no plans to raise GP fees.
The spokesman admits they have told Primary Health organisations to save money but says the intention is to put the savings towards GP subsidies.
