A decision is expected on Tuesday on whether Auckland's District Health Boards will re-hire Diagnostic Medlabs to help relieve pressure on its troubled rival, Labtests.
A string of public complaints about Labtests may have convinced the boards to award at least 20% of blood testing workload back to Medlabs.
It is expected some of the work recently re-assigned to Australian firm Labtests will be taken from it and given back to Diagnostic Medlab, the company that lost the contract in a tender last year.
