The number of measles cases in Canterbury continues to grow, with 67 confirmed cases now in the region.

Five children have been hospitalised since the outbreak, and health officials are asking parents to keep children home if they show any sign of illness.

Reports say health authorities are also considering fast tracking vaccinations in Canterbury, leaving only a year between each of the two shots instead of the usualy 4 in order to get vaccinations done faster.
