There has been a breakthrough in the effort to control dengue fever.

Researchers at the University of Queensland have discovered a bacteria that can shorten the lifespan of mosquitoes and limit their ability to infect people with the dengue virus.

Professor Scott O'Neill says the bacteria is harmless to humans.
