Actress Sandra Oh, who has played Cristina Yang on the TV2 smash-hit Grey's Anatomy for the past nine years, has announced to The Hollywood Reporter that she will leave the show at the end of its 10th season, which is yet to air in America (or New Zealand).
"Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go," Sandra explains to The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well. [Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go. We have to start the process, story-wise, for the Grey's writers to think of why she's going to go."
TV2 is currently airing season nine, Mondays at 8.30pm - so we
still have time left to appreciate Dr Yang.
But on hearing the news, I can't help feeling a bit like this...
