S2 Ep 8: Let It Be (Recap)

Derek sees Addison on the ferry and ignores her. In her car,
Meredith sees a zit on her forehead, upon seeing Addison
she puts a plaster over it. Richard wants Miranda to enrol in the
Seattle Grace Fellowship programme, she is hesitant.
Cristina and Burke walk to work, she's forgotten that they have a date that night. George's bagel gets bird poo on it, he drops it and a pigeon eats it. As he walks away a man falls from the sky onto the footpath where he was standing.
At the hospital, George works on Stu, the window washer who fell from fifth floor. George has a new lease on life and is so excited that the only thing wrong with the Stu is broken leg. Stu isn't very excited at all. Meredith deals with an elderly woman who needs her gallbladder taken out.
Addison and Derek get a visit from their friends in New York, Weiss and Sav. Sav has tested positive for a gene mutation that will most likely give her breast or ovarian cancer one day. She asks Addison to give her a hysterectomy and wants to book mastectomy. Weiss is not happy with her decision.
George and Cristina remove the pigeon crushed in Stu's back. George's new lease on life is starting to annoy Stu.
Sav pleads her case with the backing of Addison to an unsupportive Derek and Weiss. Izzie watches quietly. Sav has an 85% chance of getting cancer. After, Addison accuses Derek of not acting like they are a couple.
Izzie and Alex work on Sav who asks Izzie why she doesn't agree with her decision. Izzie says it's a big step but Alex says he thinks it's brave. Izzie says she could risk getting cancer and fight to survive. Meanwhile, Cristina tries on dresses for her date with Burke.
Cristina and Burke leave for their date. Miranda and Meredith
work on the gallbladder patient. They see she has cancer. They tell
her husband that she as 4 to 6 months to live. He asks Meredith not
to tell his wife.
George scolds Stu for not being happy to be alive then he realises
that he didn't fall, he jumped. Stu say all he could think about
was Daisy, his ex-girlfriend who works in the hospital. He asks
George to find her for him.
At the restuarant, Cristina and Burke struggle for conversation and realise they don't know much about each other. Suddenly man collapses and Burke and Cristina work on him. He needs heart surgery.
George finds Daisy but she is upset about Stu and tells him that he should have come looking for her 10 years ago. Stu goes into surgery. Meanwhile, Alex is blasé about Sav's surgery while Izzie thinks she's being castrated. In surgery, George tells Stu he didn't find Daisy but he could try after he recovers, Stu is happy as he goes under. Suddenly, he starts crashing and dies.
Miranda tells Meredith off for not informing the elderly woman that she has cancer. Miranda confesses to Richard that she is pregnant that's why she can't take the fellowship. Burke and Cristina's surgery is successful. Meredith tells the woman about her cancer, she asks her not to tell her husband.
Derek and Addison have dinner with Weiss and Sav. Weiss gets angry and storms out, saying he is losing his wife. Derek finds Weiss and tells him to be there at Sav's surgery. Meredith tells her patient's husband that she didn't tell her she had cancer.
Before her surgery, Sav is worried that Weiss won't show up. Alex tells Izzie that he would love her even if she didn't have a good body. She slaps him and then kisses him.
The elderly couple leave hand in hand, happy. Cristina tells
Burke that that was the best date she'd ever been on. Sav waits for
her surgery and Weiss comes into the operating room to hold her
hand.
Meredith gets into the lift with Derek. She says she misses him,
he goes over to her but pulls back saying he can't.
