S2 Ep 7: Something to Talk About (Recap)

The whole hospital is talking about Meredith. Derek and Addison see
a marriage councillor. Addison says that if he wants her to move to
Seattle he has to give up Meredith.
Meredith doesn't look well; Cristina and Izzie tell her that they have something to show her so she should try not to get assigned to a surgery. Alex is late for rounds. The girls pretend not to know the answers to Burke's questions. Burke ignores Alex and so George gets the case. Alex is assigned to Derek. Christina and Izzie take Meredith to see Shane, a man who thinks he is pregnant.
Shane has a pregnant wife and there is defiantly something in his stomach. A nurse comes in and asks why he has been transferred. Cristina is rude to the nurse. They don't have the chart so they steal it.
Derek and Alex deal with Nicole, an 18 year old in a wheelchair, who's been getting spasms. She's about to start college so Derek suggests a bladder operation to allow her to stop wearing a catheter. Her overprotective parents don't want it. Derek tells Alex to take her around with him for the day.
Burke's patient needs heart surgery but this doesn't stop her bossing around her husband constantly. George lets slip that he knows about Burke and Cristina's relationship. Derek tries to speak to Meredith but Cristina and Izzie won't let him. Alex tries to fob off Nicole on Izzie but she's still upset about him not kissing her.
Shane takes a pregnancy test as his other doctor argues he is a psych case. Cristina argues that his case is surgical. Izzie says the test is positive. Addison assures him that he is not pregnant. Cristina's beeper goes off, she doesn't want to go but Miranda makes her. The nurse hands Cristina a pile of patients with nauseating conditions.
Derek tries to convince Nicole's parents that she can be more independent with the operation. George wheels the heart patient who continues to boss her husband around. George tells him that he is very patient. He says she's had many heart operations so he just tries to keep her calm.
At the cafeteria, George is upset he wasn't told about the pregnant guy. Izzie and Cristina are selling tickets to the surgery. Cristina is beeped again. Everyone else is still talking about Meredith.
Shane is given an MRI. Cristina thinks Miranda knows about her and Burke and is punishing her with trivial patients. Burke tells her they should tell people but she says no.
The heart patient's husband finally yells at his wife. He
yells so much that she has a heart attack. Burke takes her
into surgery.
It turns out Shane has a tera toma, a mass of cells that has been
growing with teeth and hair.
Addison and Derek have lunch overlooking the city. She says she won't move to Seattle unless he's ready to stop seeing Meredith. Cristina tells Burke she doesn't want him to tell Richard about their relationship.
Alex tries to study whilst talking to Nicole. She asks about Izzie, he tells her to go away. She teases him about not kissing Izzie he teases her about being in a wheelchair.
Burke is performing the heart surgery when suddenly the heart bursts into flames. Cristina is beeped again so she tells Miranda off. Miranda doesn't know what she's talking about, it's actually the nurse that she was rude earlier to that's been doing it.
Richard tries to convince Addison to stay. He says that she will be front page news and Seattle Grace will become one of the leading neonatal hospitals. Derek goes to talk to Meredith but Miranda stops him. Nicole tells Alex that she's worried that she might not be ready to be independent. She asks him to kiss her. He tells her she should wait for someone special.
Burke and George tell the heart patient's husband that she will make a full recovery. He starts laughing hysterically and walks out saying that she survive without him. Shane's room is full of doctors so Meredith yells at everyone for staring at him. Burke thanks George for helping with the surgery. Shane goes into surgery, he asks Meredith to not display his insides to everyone.
Cristina says she doesn't want her and Burke to end up like Meredith and Derek. Nicole tells her parents that she wants the operation. Burke tells Richard about his and Cristina's relationship. Richard appreciates his candour. Addison has decided to move to Seattle, Derek says Meredith won't be an issue any more.
At the bar, Izzie and Cristina sit with George and count the money they collected from the surgery. Meredith joins them. Alex comes in, grabs Izzie, kisses her and leaves.
