Pendulums
The power of the pendulum has been valued since ancient times for its ability to discover treasure, advice in love, locate the lost, and divine the new. The ancient Romans and the French seer Nostradamus were renowned for using pendulums.
The pendulum is a communication device between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Successful use of a pendulum is a matter of establishing a clear, precise and consistent language between the two parts of the mind. Our spirit guides can also communicate with us via the pendulum.
With practice, you can use a pendulum for accurate decision-making and effective problem-solving. Find answers that will save you time, create more success and increase your well being.
Make Your Pendulum: You can make a pendulum out of anything - basically is, is a piece of string with a weight on the end. You can use anything you wish e.g. string, cotton, nylon etc and the same goes for the weight at the end - you can use stones, crystals, keys, nuts and bolts as long as its heavy enough to act as a pendulum. The longer and heavier the pendulum is the more energy it takes to respond so think light when first starting out.
Cleanse Your Pendulum: Before using your pendulum, you should always cleanse it by holding it under running cold tap water, soaking it in sea salt, or setting a mental intention to free it of picked up energies.
Use Your Pendulum: Sit down and get comfortable. Your mind and body should feel relaxed with no stress. You can rest your elbow on a table in front of you allow the pendulum to swing free - or you can hold your arm in a horizontal position again allowing your pendulum to swing freely. There is no set way to hold your pendulum; you can wrap the top of the string around your fingers using either hand.
Understand the Directional Swings of Your Pendulum: Pendulums swing in vertical straight lines, horizontal straight lines, and in circular movements. The faster the movement - the stronger the energies.
Define the Swings of Your Pendulum: Before asking a question, you need to programme your pendulum and understand what direction or movement is 'yes', what is 'no', and what is neutral. Ask the pendulum to show you what certain responses look like. Ask: What does a NO look like? What does a YES look like? ...and so on. A good test is to ask "Is my name X?" and if you have given the correct name you should get a yes, and vice-versa. The best way to learn your pendulum's movements is to practice by asking questions you know the answers to.
Prepare Your Questions: A question should be one that can be answered with a positive, negative or neutral response.
For example, a good question would be: Will I move house this year. A bad question would be too complex and vague such as: should I wear the red or blue dress to the ball?
Set Your Intention: You should always start your session with a prayer and intention, such as "it is my intention to seek honest answers that will serve the good of all concerned."
Ask Your Questions: You may need to ask a number of questions to receive enough information.
Between Questions: Make sure to completely stop any pendulum motion between questions to clear any lingering energies that relate to the previous question.
Tips:
- Accept information only if your instincts assure you it is
accurate.
- Keep a notebook handy to write down your questions and your
pendulum's response.
- Each pendulum may have a different response.
- Make sure that the pendulums have been cleared of any
negative energies before and after each use.
- Keep your pendulum in a safe and special place.
- Don't let other people handle your pendulum. Keep it as much
in tune with your vibration as possible.
(If you do let other people handle your pendulum, the worst that
can happen is that you may have to re-establish the yes/no
response.)
- Remember to always word your questions clearly and
precisely.
- Keep your intentions pure and don't use your pendulum if you
are in a negative state of mind.
- Be patient and practice.
