Stuffed Bread Fritters

Serves 2-4 people

Ingredients

6 slices of wholemeal bread

1 cup chickpea flour

½ cup water

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

For filling

1 large potato (boiled and mashed)

1 cup mince beef or lamb (optional)

½ cup cheese (optional)

¼ cup onion  (diced)

2 green chilli

½ tsp mustard seeds

½ tsp cumin powder

½ tsp garam masala

¼ cup coriander

¼ cup mint

¼ cup tamarind paste (optional)

¼ cup ketchup (optional)

1 tsp oil

Oil for frying

Method

Take a pan, add the oil and mustard seeds, and let them crackle. Add onion and green chilli.

Add mince beef or lamb and cook until brown, then add the potato and all dried spices. Add fresh coriander and mint. Put it aside on separate bowl.

Take 2 slices of bread and spread the stuffing in it. You can also add layers of chutney and sauce.

Take a separate bowl and add chickpea flour, salt, turmeric and water to make a batter.

Dip the bread in the batter till it covers all side and fry it.
