SPCA Factsheet

Neo (Dog)

Breed: Bull terrier X

Age: 5 Months

Gender: Male

Village ID: 270806

My story:

My previous owners just didn’t have time to look after me so they brought me to the SPCA. Now I’m looking for a new family to share adventures with!

What's special about me?

Don’t be fooled by my size. I may only be a little pup now, but I am going to grow up to be a large dog!

As I am only little I will need someone to look after me during the day until I get bigger. I love to explore so you will need to make sure you don’t have any gaps in your fences, or else I might escape.

I am still learning the ways of the world so you will need to be patient with me, but luckily I am very cute and I will keep you entertained!

Easter (Rabbit)

Breed: Jersey Woolly X NZ White

Gender: Female

Village ID: 270882

My story:

Found on the side of the road, I may have been unwanted once but I have oodles to offer.

What's special about me?

Aside from stunning looks and a fabulously furry personality, EASTER is just a great bunny.  Social, large and very impressionable.  You’ll love her.  Please consider whether you have enough free time to keep her coat plush and knot free.  A knot free coat means a pain free bunny.

Domino (Cat)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair

Age: 5 years

Gender: Male Village ID: 270717

My story

I was living rough and trying to find food.  A kind member of the public provided me with food and tried to find my owners.  They couldn’t find me a new home so brought me in to the SPCA.

What's special about me?

Domino will make a wonderful companion.  He is a laid back dude who likes to sit close and curl up beside you.

Xander (Dog)

Breed: Staffy X

Age: 2 Years

Gender: Male

Village ID: 268113

My story:

An SPCA Inspector brought me here where the vets cared for me and fixed my sore, badly-flystruck ears.  Now I’m all better, I’m ready to find my home for life!

What's special about me?

I love company and attention and I’ve learnt to be an expert cuddler!

I get bored and sometimes bark when I’m left alone, so I need someone to be home with me part of the time.

I will also need good physical and mental stimulation to help combat boredom and to keep me entertained.  A fun, busy household would be perfect for me.

I’ve never been a proper family pet before, so I’ll need an experienced owner to help me understand what’s expected of me.

It might take me a little while to bond and settle in, but once I see you’re offering me to good life I’ll be a loving, loyal companion.

Edgar & Alan (Roosters)

Breed: Rooster

Age: 6 Months

Gender: Male (Not-de-sexed)

Village ID: 271682 & 271683

My Story:

Edgar & Alan were dumped on a property in Waitakere along with five other roosters and a few hens. The property owners were able to re-home the hens and one rooster, but could not find forever homes for the remaining roosters.

What’s special about me?

Roosters make great pets. They will protect their flock of hens, making the hens feel safer and therefore laying more eggs, a win for everyone! You will just need to make sure that eggs are picked up daily to avoid fertilisation.

Roosters will sort out the pecking order of the flock, stopping any bickering that may occur between the hens.
