Prep Time: 30 minutes
This will make you two good family- sized pizzas.
6 cups plain flour
3 tablespoons oil
Pinch of salt and pepper
1/2 cup milk
2 cups warm water
6 tablespoons dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 can chopped tomatoes
In a large dish place warm water, yeast and sugar. Allow to sit so that the yeast forms a foam on top.
Place all dry ingredients in a dish, mix through the yeast with a wooden spoon, turn out on a flowered bench top and knead the dough into a ball.
Place back in the dish, rub the oil over the top.
Place in a warm area to allow the dough to rise.
In winter time I put my oven on full and open the lid and place the pizza dough on top of the oven lid with the door open, this will help the dough to rise.
If using a pizza stone, heat in the oven for 30 minutes until it is hot on the highest temperature.
Remove from oven, place dough on top and all toppings, place back in the oven and lower heat to 180C.
Cook until golden.
If using pizza trays, oil your surface and place in the oven on 180C.
