Nutmeg Cake
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
150g butter
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 tsp baking powder
2 whole nutmegs, grated
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Method
Preheat oven to 180C
Grease and line a 20-25cm spring cake tin.
In a bowl mix the flour and sugar together, and rub in the butter
to resemble bread crumbs.
Put half the flour, sugar, and butter mixture into the cake
tin.
Mix the egg, baking powder and nutmeg into the other half of the
mixture.
Pour over the bottom layer.
Sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Serve warm with cream.
