Maple Pear Tarts

With Nadia Lim

Maple Pear Tarts

So simple, but so good. Turn it into an autumn duet with pear and apple or feijoa, or make use of summer's bounty with apricots, peaches or nectarines.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves 4-6
Cost (per serve): $0.60

1 sheet puff pastry
4 small ripe pears, sliced
1/4 cup maple syrup
Icing sugar, to dust
Greek yoghurt, cream or vanilla ice cream to serve

Preheat oven to 180C fan bake (or 190C conventional).
Line an oven tray with baking paper.
Cut pastry sheet in half so you have two large rectangles and place on the prepared tray.
Lay slices of pear along both pieces of pastry. Brush pears with half of the maple syrup.
Bake for 15 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden.
Brush with the remaining maple syrup and dust with icing sugar. Serve with yoghurt, cream or vanilla ice cream
