MILES’ COTTAGE PIE
3 cloves garlic
800g -1kg good quality mince White and black pepper
4-5 large potatoes
1 cup milk
Fry the mince until browned and remove from pan. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pan and cook until soft. Boil the carrots and peas.
Bring the potatoes to the boil and simmer until tender and mash with salt and pepper. Cook the chopped leek in the milk and then add to the potatoes with the butter.
Mix the meat with the peas and carrots and spoon into an ovenproof dish. Pipe or spoon on the mash to cover and bake for 20 minutes.
