Cheese and Herb Bread

Ingredients
4 cups self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
60g butter
1 egg
2 cups milk
100g cheddar cheese
100g parmesan cheese
4 tbsp thyme or oregano leaves, finely chopped
1 red onion sliced into rings

Chive Butter Ingredients
200g butter
4 tbsp Chives, chopped

Method
Preheat oven to 190C. Grease a 20cm round spring form pan.
Place flour, baking powder, salt and butter in a food processor.
Process until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Transfer to a large mixing bowl and add cheese and 3 tablespoon fresh herb, and mix to combine.
In a separate bowl whisk egg and milk.
Add egg mixture to flour mixture and fold to combine to make sticky dough.
Place mixture into greased pan. Brush dough with water and place red onion rings on top and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of desired herb.
Bake for 50-55 minutes or until golden brown. If topping is browning too quickly while cooking cover with tin foil.
Serve warm with butter.
