Wonderful Homemade Lotions and Potions for the face using coconut oil as the base.
Gentle Coconut and Sugar Facial Scrub
1 part coconut oil
2 parts raw sugar
Few drops rose oil
Method
Melt coconut oil, then add sugar along with rose
oil.
Mix then store in a labeled jar.
Coconut and Strawberry Exfoliant Scrub for Feet and
Hands
6 ripe strawberries
3 tsp coconut oil
2 tbsp sea salt.
Method
Mash strawberries in a bowl before mixing other
ingredients.
Apply to both hands and feet.
Leave a good 5 minutes before rinsing off.
Coconut and Coffee Total Body Scrub
2 tbsp ground (wet) or used coffee grounds - to stimulate
the skin
3 tbsp desiccated coconut
3 tbsp of melted coconut oil - enriching
2 tbsp coconut cream - enriching
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp runny honey - antibacterial agent
Vitamin e oil capsule - this is to extend life of scrub.
Method
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, to combine well.
Store in a screw top labeled jar.
Will keep for several weeks.
Rich Coconut Based Moisturiser for Sun Damaged Sensitive
Skin
1/4 cup distilled water warmed
3/4 cup coconut oil
2 tbsp beeswax
1/2 tsp rose oil
1/2 cup aloe vera gel
Method
Use a double boiler to melt beeswax, then add coconut
oil.
Add heated water to blender along with wax/oil and blend for 1
minute.
Slowly add aloe vera gel and blend on high for around 2 or so
minutes until thick and creamy.
Super Soft Moisturiser
1 tsp honey
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp lemon juice
Method
Mix to combine well then apply to skin and leave on for 30
minutes.
Rinse off with warm water.
