Lotions and Potions ... and all things natural to clean around the house
If you have allergies, then it might just be an accumulation of toxic chemicals you might be using on yourself or on surfaces around the home. I've found it most beneficial to my health, and also my budget, to make household cleaners myself from inexpensive products in the pantry.
1. Scouring paste
By far the simplest cleaner of all. I use on sinks, oven
doors and for tea-stained mugs.
Ingredients
4 Tbsp baking soda
1 Tbsp water
Screw top plastic jar
Method
Mix ingredients to a stiff paste, and apply with a damp
sponge. Buff residue with a dry cloth.
2. Lemon cream cleanser - this is better than
commercial brands
Great for baths, basins and shower bases
Ingredients
Squirt of natural detergent
1/2 cup baking soda
1 tsp glycerin
Lemon essential oil or any citrus will do the job
Screw top plastic jar
Method
Stir enough detergent into a baking soda to make a soft
paste. Add glycerin and several drops of oil.Apply with a
damp sponge then rinse off&
3. Soap and borax spray cleaner
This spray cleaner is so useful you might like to make it
up in large quantities.
Ingredients
2 tsp borax
1 heaped tsp pure soap flakes
3 cup water
Spray mist bottle.
Method
Place all into spray bottle, shake to mix well.
Spray and wipe with a damp sponge.
