• Sewing Machine Small Silver Bag

• 50cm Silver Chevron Stripe Print Hessian

Method:

Large Gold Bag

1. Cut a 25cm square for the base from Chevron stripe and plain hessian fabric, as well as two 40 x 48 rectangles for the sides from both fabrics

2. For both fabrics join the side pieces by sewing them together with 1cm seam allowance, wrong sides together. The sides of the rectangles are the shorter sides

3. Take the square for the bottom of the bag, fold in half and mark the halfway point on 2 opposite sides with a pin.

4. With the right sides together match the side seams with this mark then pin the rest of the side of the square to the bag side

5. Clip the bag side into the corner and continue pinning around the next side. Continue this way all around the base then sew the seam. Leave a gap of 10cm on one side of the hessian lining

6. With right sides together join the bag lining to the chevron bag along the top seam.

7. Pull the bag through the gap left at the base and sew hole together.

8. Iron the bag on the lining side only with a warm to hot iron (test temp first with a spare scrap of hessian) 9. Turn over the top of the bag 7cm to create a cuff.
