Kiwi golfer Tim Wilkinson was "more embarrassed than hurt" at his forced withdrawal from the PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii.
Midway through his second round, Wilkinson fired a shot out of the rough, only to have ricochet off a rock and hit his right collar bone.
The pain forced him to pull out of the tournament, but his manager Robert Gutierrez says there is no danger he will miss his next tournament in Los Angeles in a fortnight.
Wilkinson has only recently returned to the PGA Tour after several months on the sidelines following thumb surgery.
Meanwhile, Mark Brown has fallen out of contention at the European Tour's Johannesburg Open.
Brown has carded a three-over 74 to move to two-under for the tournament and a tie for 64th.
He is now 16 shots behind runaway leader, South Africa's Charl Schwartzel.
Fellow Kiwi Danny Lee failed to make the cut in the event.
