Tiger Woods may have been off his game since his extramarital affairs were exposed last year, but he is still the world's highest earning athlete.
Woods claimed the top spot on a US list of 50 athletes for the seventh consecutive year, though Sports Illustrated magazine says his total earnings fell 10% to around $US120 million.
Golfer Phil Mickelson is second with total earnings of more than $US61 million.
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer topped the separate list of international sports figures, dethroning English footballer David Beckham with nearly $US62 million dollars total earnings, according to the Sports Illustrated report.
Beckham fell to number three on the list, behind Argentinean and Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi.
The report comes a day after Woods dropped into a tie with NBA star Kobe Bryant as the favourite American sports star.
Woods had held the position alone since 2006, but the Lakers guard moved up from fourth last year to grab a share of the top spot in the survey of 2,227 adults.
Woods hasn't won in seven tournaments since his sex scandal was revealed.
His inability to claim one of the first three majors of the year on courses where he has triumphed in the past has raised serious questions as to whether 14-time major champion Woods will be able to surpass Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major titles.
