Kiwi golfer Peter Spearman-Burn remains on track for a spot in next year's US Masters after the second round of the inaugural Asian Amateur Championship in China.
Spearman-Burn has carded a four under 68 to move to outright third on seven under par, two shots off the pace.
The Wellington golfer made five birdies with one dropped shot in
his round. He trails joint leaders Jordan Sherratt (Australia) and
Chang-Won Han (Korea).
The winner earns a place in next year's US Masters field while both
the winner and the runners-up will play in International Final
Qualifying for The Open Championship next year at St Andrews.
Hawkes Bays Daniel Pearce was the only other New Zealander to
make the cut, shooting a second round one-under 71 to be on
two-over 146 in a share of 32nd place.
Meanwhile rain has ruined the second round of the Singapore Golf
Open.
Danny Lee is the only Kiwi in with a shot at making the cut, even par after three holes of his second round and even for the tournament, seven shots off the pace.
Michael Campbell and Mark Brown on plus five and seven over respectively are set to miss the cut.
