Unheralded Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Briton Rhys Davies were tied for the lead after Saturday's third round at the storm-hit Malaysian Open.

World 231 Kiradech, who had to play the last four holes of his second round in the morning after a lightning delay caused havoc on Friday, carded a third round 68 as the pace-setters both holed out on 11-under-par 205.

Kiwi golfer Mark Brown's maintained his solid and sits in a tie for 28th at two-under for the tournament, nine shots off the lead. Compatriot Mark Purser's in a tie for 56th at one over.

Welshman Davies, the world 135, had played out a second round 69 to take a two-shot lead at the halfway point before he slipped back following a 71 in the afternoon at the $2 million co-sanctioned Asian and European Tour event.

South Korean KJ Choi's hot putter helped him close the gap with four birdies in the opening 10 holes as he fired a 69 which left him in a four-way tie for second, one stroke off the lead.

Denmark's Soren Hansen (69), Thai Thongchai Jaidee (69) and South Korean Noh Seung-yul (67) will all tee off one shot behind the leading pair at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
