This year everyone seems to have their quests fulfilled
already. But has Kevin really found the perfect woman? And can Cody
defend Gwen against a witch?
We begin back in January, about 3 weeks on from ep 13 of the last
series and at first it seems that nobody even needs a quest this
year.
Kevin has already met his perfect woman, Danni, a beautiful Ducati
riding Travel Agent who is almost too good to be true and is
definitely not a nutbar. He is determined to make the relationship
work.
Despite initial reservations, even Kevin's friends approve and
Kevin tells Danni that he loves her. She loves him too and they
discover they have both attracted nutbars in the past.
In an unguarded moment Kevin blurts out that he'd like them to live
together and make babies. That's when everything starts to go
wrong. Danni is adamant that she never wants children.
Kevin tries to backtrack and talk her around. But Danni now thinks
they want different things. She can't stop worrying about sabotaged
condoms and breaks if off.
But Kevin isn't about to give up and tries to prove how much he
loves her. He calls her, he brings her flowers, he waits for her
outside her work place; he even gives her a precious gift from his
childhood, but all this just freaks Danni out. She accuses him of
stalking her and threatens to take out a protection order. With
Britta's intervention, Kevin realises that this time, he is the
nutbar!
However, at least he now has his quest for this year - to have a
child of his own.
Britta and Brad have spent most of January under the duvet of love,
but the time is approaching when Brad has to return to work. Britta
tries in vain to think of a quest but she already has her true
love, Brad. What more does she need?
When she sees how distressed Kevin is about Danni, she makes a pact
with him, that in ten years time, if they are both single, they
will have a child together. Not that she expects to be
single...
Meanwhile, Brad comes up with a quest for him and Britta - to
travel the world.
Cody already decided her quest at the end of series 2; to take care
of her family while Eli heads off to France.
She is concerned when she gets a call from Angelina explaining that
some money has gone missing from a charity that Gwen was involved
in.
Gwen frets that she might have done something with the money and
forgotten because of her Alzheimers. Cody tries to help but has to
battle her mother's misgivings over her competence. Cody finds that
the original complaint was laid by an enigmatic, attractive man we
will come to know as NSB.
With Brad's help, Cody unravels the money trail and realises that a
friend of her mother, Lynette, was responsible for the theft of the
money. She takes her concerns to Angelina who finds that the senior
partner, Brendan, suspected this all along - Lynette is
his sister-in-law. They had hoped that Gwens Alzheimers would muddy
the waters.
Angelina assures Cody and Gwen that the matter has been resolved,
without revealing that she has resigned from her firm over
it.
Gwen admits to Cody that she appreciates her help and suggests it
might be better if Cody takes over the family finances.
This is tacit acknowledgement of Gwen's worsening condition and the
fact she needs Codys help.
