Q&A with Jay Ryan
Kevin has been married for a year when we meet up with
him. How is Kevin feeling at the start of this series?
I think he's feeling quite isolated and alone. He is
almost in a state of anxiety about the mess he's left behind with
the girls and not being there to look after them. He's also feeling
like he has become a completely different person and doesn't know
what happened to the old Kev.
He hasn't been seeing much of his friends how has the
dynamic shifted when Kevin catches up with them?
He comes back thinking everything is rosy and he'll feel
comforted in the old ways of the girls but everyone has been so far
removed in the year that we don't see on TV that it's a little bit
awkward and takes a lot of adjusting for the characters.
Everyone has their own baggage from the last year that no one's
really discussed. They haven't been as close over that year that we
don't see. It takes a little wrangling to get back to that common
thread of the Go Girls.
Highlights of shooting season four?
Working with Michael Duignan and Murray Keane all our new
directors were amazing. It was a great spin to freshen up the
fourth series. I really liked what the writers brought to episode
one and Kevins journey by throwing it off kilter and adding in a
whole lot of new avenues.
