Matt Whelan plays Brad
It's another January, but one year on. Brad returns, but
a broken heart and overseas travel mean he's a changed man.
2010 was a stellar year for Matt Whelan who not only took on a more
prominent role in
Go Girls
, but he also took home a Best Supporting Actor Award at the Qantas
Film and Television Awards for his work on the series (season
two).
He also landed leading roles in two feature films: South Pacific
Pictures' feature film, My Wedding and Other Secrets, released in
March 2011 and The Most Fun You Can Have Dying, based on the novel
Seraphim Blues by Steven Gannaway.
Matts work in My Wedding and Other Secrets earned him a nomination
for Best Lead Actor in a Feature Film at the 2011 Aotearoa Film and
Television Awards (AFTAs).
Previously Matt starred in the 2008 feature film, Show of Hands,
co-starring Melanie Lynskey and Craig Hall and had a small role in
the 2007 film Eagle vs Shark.
His other television credits include the Gibson Group's My
Story and Tough Act and his theatre credits include Holding
the Man for the Silo Theatre, Angels in America, Moulding Man and
Antigone.
Matt completed his Bachelor of Performing Arts at Toi Whakaari (New
Zealand Drama School) in 2007.
