About Ghost Whisperer
Ghost Whisperer returns with Jennifer Love Hewitt starring as Melinda Gordon, a medium who communicates with spirits or ghosts who cling to the living because they have unfinished business on earth.

In guiding them to find the light, she often enlists the help of Eli, a young psychology professor, who shares Melinda's ability to communicate with the afterlife.

When we left Melinda last season, she had walked through the town with her mother, her husband and three close friends, and realised that only five out of six of them cast shadows. Does this mean that one of them is destined to die?

The answer will be revealed in the new season, which promises to be bigger and more dramatic than ever, and further works on the premise that death is not necessarily the end.

David Conrad, who plays Melinda's husband Jim Gordon, spoke about his character's story arc this season. "I think you will see a Jim you have never seen before. I think he'll find out who his true self is, though it might take a long time."

Conrad is relishing the chance to act out a new story line. He says "It's going to be a completely new world for Jim. It's like he is waking up with new eyes - almost like he is seeing things through someone else's eyes. It might bring out a muscle that I've never used before."
