Valencia goalscoring ace David Villa is set to snub a switch to Stamford Bridge because he wants a move to Manchester United.

According to various reports, Chelsea were hopeful that their FIFA transfer ban would be lifted in time for the Spanish star, who has reportedly sacked his agent over bungled transfer dealings in the summer window, to make a move to London in January.

But reports now suggest that Villa, who was also a top Liverpool target, has turned down a previous approach from Chelsea and would prefer a move to Old Trafford.

"David was approached about the Chelsea move in the summer but did not fancy it." A source 'close' to the player told Metro.

"He was not sure how often he would play or whether they played his style.

"Manchester United is his first choice in England, but there is a problem with that because of the price and his age.

"If it can be agreed with Valencia he would sooner go to Old Trafford
