With Ricki Herbert tied down by Wellington Phoenix A-League commitments, his All Whites assistant, Brian Turner, was named to deputise for him at next month's World Cup soccer draw in South Africa.
New Zealand qualified for the World Cup after beating Bahrain 1-0 on aggregate in their Asia/Oceania playoff matches.
Herbert said today preparations were well under way for New Zealand's World Cup campaign and expects the process to shift gears after the draw is made in Cape Town on December 5 (NZtime).
"It's great to get the planning ball rolling and I think we're in a good place to be able to move swiftly whatever the draw throws at us.
"There are 10 venues and 31 other teams so the permutations are huge.
"But we've got guidelines and priorities in place to make sure we get what we need."
New Zealand Football chairman Frank van Hattum and high performance manager Alex Chiet will work with Turner to arrange the All Whites' build-up programme once the draw is made.
