Bruce like the Cat-termole who got the cream
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has landed Wigan midfielder and Liverpool target Lee Cattermole for six million pounds.
The 21-year-old, who joined Wigan for less than half that price just one year ago, has signed a four-year-deal with the club that sees him join former Latics boss Bruce at the Black Cats. (Various)

Arsenal fans are facing a nail-biting wait to see if influential skipper Cesc Fabregas will leave the Emirates for the Camp Nou.
The Catalans are reported to have offered 27 million for the Spain star, but Arsenal value their skipper around the 40 million mark.
Barca must now decide if they are willing to cough up the huge sum before Arsenal begin their Champions League campaign against Celtic because if Fabregas DOES play for the Gunners that will leave him ineligible to play in the tournament with Barca should he decide to make the move. (The Sun)

Arsenal are reported to have pulled out of the race for striker Marouane Chamakh after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger decided the Moroccan international - who the club bid 6 million pounds for - is not worth Bordeaux's 10 million pound asking price. (The Sun)
Spurs weigh up Moses bid
Tottenham are said to be weighing up a 5 million pound move for Crystal Palace forward Victor Moses, with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp reported to be ready to use his friendship with Eagles boss Neil Warnock in order to sort a deal for the 18-year-old - who is also being watched by Sunderland and Arsenal.
Wigan are also reported to have held talks with Palace over the lower league star - but will not match the five million pound asking price. (The Daily Star)
Redknapp considers Scott Brown swoop
Spurs boss Redknapp is also considering a move for Celtic's Scott Brown as he looks to replenish his midfield following the sale of Didier Zokora.
Redknapp has also been linked with a bid for Toulouse's highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who is of interest to a host of clubs and, as such, would not come cheaply as Toulouse rate him at 15m.

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is reported to have his eye on Spurs outcast Giovani doe Santos
The Mexico forward is reported to fear his first team chances at White Hart Lane and it is believed boss Harry Redknapp is ready to listen to offers.
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho is reported to be so impressed with the way Dos Santos led his country he wants to bring him to Italy but he may have a fight on his hands as Deportivo la Coruna and Espanyol are interested in taking him back to Spain. (The Daily Mail)

United boss Alex Ferguson is trying to seal a 5 million pound deal for goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Hull and Rovers battle for Real hitman
Both Hull and Blackburn Rovers are reported to have matched Real Madrid's 15 million pound asking price for striker Alvaro Negrdo.
But the 23-year-old's agent also insists that his client has not ruled out a move to Zenit St Petersburg, who are understood to have offered the player a hefty 60,000 a week.
Negrdo's agent has confirmed talks with Hull bosses and has also been talking to Roma, but Madrid are reportedly not keen on loaning their striker out to the Italians. (The Daily Mail)
BUT according to various other reports Negredo could be on his way to Hull after his agent said about Hull: "Alvaro likes the team and is keen to play for them in the Premier League." (The Sun)
Tigers expected to announce new signings
Meanwhile, Hull are expected to announce the signings of Stephen Hunt and Kamel Ghilas.
Reading confirmed earlier this week they had agreed an undisclosed fee for the transfer of Republic of Ireland winger Hunt and he is believed to have discussed terms with the Tigers before linking up with his international team-mates for the clubs friendly against Australia.
Celta Vigo's Algerian striker Ghilas has also been heavily linked with a move to the KC Stadium in recent days. (The Daily Express)
Hodgson told to splash the cash
Fulham owner Mohamed Al Fayed has told boss Roy Hodgson to spent rather than sell as he goes for success in the Europa League.
They club are reported to be digging their heels over 8 million pound Arsenal target Brede Hangeland, with Fulham not willing to sell him for less than 15m and Al Fayed has told Hodgson, who led the team to seventh place in the Premier League last season, that he would rather see players coming in than leaving. Villa confirm Marshall signing
Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Andy Marshall on a one-year contract.

City to push Moyes' buttons AGAIN
Manchester City are reported to be intent on continuing their pursuit of highly-rated defender Joleon Lescott, despite the insistence from Everton that the player is not for sale.
Lescott attempted to bring one of the summer's most tortuous transfer sagas closer to an end on Wednesday when he submitted a formal written transfer request. But it was given short shrift by Moyes, whose subsequent public comments were a clear bid to to underline his position on the matter, but City intent on not giving up without a fight, City are now planning a 22 million pound bid for the England star. Bendtner hopes lucky number will change his fortunes
Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner is hoping his luck in front of goal will change this season now he has dumped his old shirt number.
The Arsenal forward's strike rate last season was less than a goal every three games, so he has swapped his No 26 shirt for No 52 - which he says is a lucky number.
The Denmark hitman, who can delight and frustrate Gunners fans in equal measure, has also offered a refund to supporters who have already bought this season's shirt with his old number on it. (The Sun)
