Manager Leo Karis has refuted claims All Whites striker Shane Smeltz is about to leave the A-League.

Australian media report Smeltz is on the verge of leaving Gold Coast United for a contract in China.

Karis says the rumours are completely inaccurate and are just newspaper talk.
