Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has told Manchester City to forget about trying to tempt him to Eastlands because he already feels like a born-and-bred Scouser.
According to various media reports, City are considering a massive 50 million pound bid to tempt Liverpool into selling their goalscoring star in the summer transfer window.
If City did make the British record bid for the Spanish ace it is thought cash-strapped Liverpool may find the offer hard to refuse, even though boss Rafa Benitez has insisted that he would exit Anfield if the player was sold.
Torres himself has now spoke out about the rumours, telling City manager Mark Hughes he would be wasting his time trying to tempt him away from the Reds as he has no intention of leaving Liverpool.
"I really feel at home here. From the first day I came I have felt that Anfield is my home - I feel like I am from Liverpool." Torres, who recently returned to training with the Liverpool squad is quoted as saying in the media on Thursday.
"For me, Anfield is the best place in England. I hope to be here for a long time and if my daughter speaks English and Scouse, I will be proud.
"This is my home and it helps that I have learned the language. Have I picked up any Scouse? Deffo! I am picking up words all the time."
Former Atletico Madrid skipper Torres is only in his third season at the club, but with 48 league goals in just 67 appearances, he is already on his way to becoming a true Kop legend in the same vein as Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush.
A feat he can even surpass should he net two more goals in his next 12 matches.
But there is one thing Torres would love more than anything, and that is winning trophies with the club.
"The fans have seen some of the best players in the world playing for Liverpool and now they sing my name.
"It's amazing to score at Anfield but, really, I'd like to be remembered as a player who won things for Liverpool."
