Spanish midfielder Albert Riera is reported to have been
transfer listed after launching a scathing attack on Liverpool boss
Rafa Benitez
Riera, who has made just one first team start since January, tore into his fellow Spaniard in radio interview and branded the club a 'sinking ship.'
The winger, who is worried his lack of game time will have an impact on his World Cup chances also revealed there are massive rifts in the Liverpool dressing room.
He also said that Benitez was not helping the situation as he did not speak to players when there were problems.
"This year has been difficult and he has not changed at all. When you see the ship is sinking and you don't change..." Spanish international Riera said.
"I've been here for two years and I know how he is as a person. He's never resolved a situation with a player by speaking with him.
"He thinks he is the boss and turns a deaf ear to everyone else.
"The dialogue with the players is practically zero."
The 27-year-old, who is reported to have got into Benitez's bad books earlier this year after a bust-up with a team-mate during a training session, has all but sealed his Anfield exit with the public outburst.
And Benitez is believed to have contacted Riera's agent to inform him to stay away from the club until Monday.
Riera himself was quoted as saying he would love to stay at Liverpool, but if his World Cup chances are to suffer, he will have to find an alternative solution.
"I am delighted to play for Liverpool and if I was playing, I would love to stay, because it is a brilliant place to play football. But if I am not playing I have no chance of going to the World Cup, so I am trying to solve the problem so I at least have a small chance."
That solution, according to British newspaper The Daily Telegraph is likely to be Riera's immediate departure for either CSKA or Spartak Moscow after the Russian transfer window was extended to April 8.
