League Managers Association CEO Richard Bevan has told United and Liverpool bosses Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez to put an end to their feud
Both bosses have been involved in a bitter war of words throughout the course of the season - with the latest coming after Liverpool boss Benitez refused to congratulate Ferguson after Manchester United won the Premier League on Sunday.
The feud started in January after Rafa Benitez's now infamous rant in which he interrupted a press conference to voice his concerns about the Scot.
Reading from a handwritten statement, a visibly shaken Benitez accused Ferguson of destroying the FA's Respect campaign, of moaning over the season's fixture schedule and also, fearing Liverpool's title challenge.
Ferguson then hit back at Benitez in April accusing the Spaniard of being 'arrogant' and showing 'contempt' to Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce after Benitez appeared to make hand gestures after Liverpool went 2-0 up - which Ferguson believed was the Spaniard's way of signalling the game was over.
Benitez's latest move in refusing to congratulate Alex Ferguson on his 11th Premier League trophy with the North-West club has prompted LMA CEO Richard Bevan to speak out.
"They are very experience, very successful and highly competitive" Bevan said.
"At the LMA the image of the game matters and we speak to all of our members on an ongoing basis on a variety of issues.
"They will at times have strong views but I think on this
instant it is time for all parties to move on."
