The Wellington Phoenix are eyeing a late charge towards a home semi-final spot in football's A-League.
The Phoenix beat Adelaide United 1-nil in Christchurch on Saturday to move up to fourth on the table for the time being on 34 points.
Coach Ricki Herbert says the result keeps the team in the driving seat for the playoffs and they are also delighted to have played in front of just over 19,200 spectators.
But Herbert also says it's vital they maintain their momentum heading in to next weekend's away match against Gold Coast United.
He says they won't be holding back and they now need to go to the Gold Coast and take them on.
Midfielder Paul Ifill admits the victory should have been easier, but at this point in the season he says they will take points any way.
The Newcastle Jets are even with the Phoenix on the ladder but have a game in hand.
