All Whites and Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has set the record straight on his reported punch-up with team-mate El-Hadji Diouf.

Last week English tabloid 'The News of the World' reported that a dressing room bust-up, involving Nelsen and Diouf, happened just minutes after the Senegal international was accused of racially abusing a ball boy during the sides Premier League loss to Everton.

The paper claimed Nelsen had accused the Rovers striker of being "not interested" and "lazy" and the pair we alleged to have traded verbal insults before Diouf threw himself at the club skipper.

But Nelsen has since come clean about the incident telling reporters there was an argument - but no blows were traded.

The Kiwi said he told Diouf to take a look at himself after going off at a couple of players for not performing and also admitted he feels sorry for the controversial player.
