All Whites coach Ricky Herbert is to name an 18 man squad for the World Cup warm up against Mexico next week, but it is still unclear if Rory Fallon will actually be there.

The striker, whose goal propelled New Zealand into the World Cup, wants to help his English club side Plymouth Argyle avoid relegation and says he does not like playing friendlies.

Because the March fixture falls inside a FIFA window, Herbert says Fallon will be selected and he will not speculate on what might happen if Fallon is not available.

Herbert says it is not about ramifications, rather legalities and he wants all his players available.

The Mexico match is the only time Herbert can call on all his overseas players prior to the World Cup.

The All Whites have also lined up friendlies against fellow finalists Serbia and Slovenia in May and June but the dates are not yet confirmed.
