Five A-League football clubs have expressed an interest in signing in-form forward Paul Ifill, but the Wellington Phoenix remain the favourites to retain his services.

Ifill has a one year contract with the Phoenix with an option to extend.

The former Crystal Palace striker said early negotiations are underway and said as long as the terms offered by the Phoenix are right, he is not looking to go anywhere else.

Ifill he needs to make it known before Christmas if he wants to take up that option for another year.
