Manchester City have confirmed an agreement has been reached with Everton over the long-standing transfer battle of Toffees defender Joleon Lescott.
The move is subject to the England international agreeing personal terms and passing a medical - the Liverpool Echo is reporting.
Although both clubs have not revealed the fee, it is believed to be in the region of 22 million pounds, which could rise to 24 million.
Lescott - who has been a main defensive target of cashed-up Manchester City since the club missed out on securing a deal for Chelsea skipper John Terry - is expected to be unveiled as a City player on Tuesday.
This latest deal takes City's summer transfer spending to over 100 million pounds.
The transfer of Lescott though will be a major blow for Everton boss David Moyes who has been trying to hold onto his prized asset, and whose club have suffered two Premier League blows after suffering a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal and a 1-0 loss to Premier League new boys Burnley .
