Manchester City manager Mark Hughes faces the axe after the club's chairman witnessed yet another dismal draw.

British tabloid the News of the World is reporting that chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is considering giving Sparky the boot after their dull 1-1 draw with Hull on Sunday.

And while City have lost just one game this season - to Manchester United - the latest draw was their seventh in a row, leaving the club's owners angry over the amount of money spent on buying the likes of Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor in the transfer window and the lack of results on the pitch.

It is now believed that owner Sheikh Mansour will make a decision on Hughes' future, possibly at the end of this week where they face Arsenal in the Carling Cup and Chelsea in the league.

Guus Hiddink, Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho are all in the frame as his replacement the newspaper is reporting.
