David Beckham did not get the return he had hoped for at Old Trafford as he started on the bench in the crucial clash between Manchester United and AC Milan on Thursday.

LATEST: Man United 4 (Rooney 13th, 46th minute, Park 59 minute) AC Milan 0 (Aggregate 7-2)

The 34-year-old had started the first leg, setting up the first goal in a 3-2 loss, but coach Leonardo has rung the changes for the second leg.

Beckham was a cult figure at United until he left in 2003 and has never played against them at Old Trafford.
