All Whites midfielder Craig Henderson's dream of featuring at June's football World Cup in South Africa appears to be over.

Swedish club Mjallby says Henderson is facing up to nine months on the sidelines after sustaining a serious knee injury in a pre-season camp last month. The 22-year-old now requires cruciate ligament surgery.

Henderson's yet to feature for the All Whites after the same injury kept him out of their friendly against Mexico in Los Angeles earlier this month but did represent the New Zealand represent side at the Beijing Olympics.
