New Zealand Football is close to finalising preparations for the All Whites going into the World Cup finals in South Africa.
It is yet to announce the bulk of the schedule for the lead up to the competition, but CEO Michael Glading says the plan for altitude training in Europe followed by several warm-up matches is almost done.
Reports on Tuesday say the international side are awaiting confirmation e-mails from several European countries about matches to be played in May, immediately before heading to South Africa.
May is thought to be a crucial time for the sides' World Cup preparation as the A-League will have ended, so warm-up matches where the entire squad can play together will be on the cards.
One much anticipated clash that won't be happening though is a trans-Tasman showdown between the All Whites and the Socceroos.
All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has voiced his support for a warm-up match against Australia, but Glading said there is no chance of it eventuating because the Australian side can not fit any more matches into their schedule.
