Pammy bounces into town
Pamela Anderson
The one and only Pamela Anderson is in town. Yes, you heard right. The busty-blonde ex-Baywatch bombshell and her best buddy Richie Rich have arrived in Auckland. And I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Pam even before the press conference at The Moet Bar had started.
A group of us are poised at the entrance about to join the conference as a car moves into view and out steps Pam. She's not wearing very much for a rainy Auckland afternoon but hey, it's Pam and in any case, she looks happy and stunning. With what looks like a full-length pink towel and pink sunglasses on top of her head, she totters into The Moet Bar in gold stilettos.
A*Muse. Environmentally friendly, recyclable and fun. In short, that's the message Pam and Richie Rich are sending out.
Anderson who admits the robe she's wearing (and constantly holding up) is in fact a scarf from their range they've designed for next season. Ahem.
She doesn't seem phased in the slightest as she clutches her glass of Moet in a black champagne glass as she sits next to her partner in crime, Richie Rich and laughs and jokes about nudity.
Richie Rich who is wearing a brown cap and white T-shirt with pink splashes, confesses it's Anderson who came up with the idea of 'Muse' that eventually became 'A*Muse even though Pam can't recall this. She continues to talk about the environmental issues we're facing and that they want to a) have fun with their new range and b) acknowledges it's a good time to do it.
She also reveals that Richie Rich isn't just anyone but a real artist with lots of talent and she's happy about working with him for this reason. She also talks about their friendship and the shared friends they have in common.
Pop art is mentioned in association with the brand plus the fact they want everyone to have fun and that people should be themselves. Speaking the mind for them is also very important - well we've seen evidence of this in the way Pamela speaks overtly about her love of animals and dislike for those who are disrespectful towards them.
Pam ensures Muse contains no animal products, is recyclable and should be something people won't feel guilty about wearing. We laugh when she speaks about environmentally friendly beach balls - she's seriously going to try and invent them! Richie Rich is all about fun too as they both talk about adding shoes, make-up and jewellery to their range.
While flicking her hair, pouting, flirting and giggling, Karl
Tenana asks Pamela, new to New Zealand, if she knows what a hongi
might be. Talk about taking cheeky to a new level.
Well, we all guess what her reply is. Karl promptly
walks towards her and hey presto, all of a sudden Pamela
understands Maori culture. She even claims it's
strangely erotic!
Even though she only flew in to Auckland today, she loves it here
(and compares it to Canada where she grew up). She feels she could
really stay claiming she has a number of friends who want to live
in Aotearoa too.
But wait, this is the very news you've all been waiting for. Waihetians get ready. Pamela Anderson, America's best beauty is spending the day on Waiheke island tomorrow before her and Richie Rich showcase their Muse collection at ANZFW!
If you live on Waiheke you know to stay put, if you're going to
ANZFW then enjoy the show. If our time with these two
frolicking duo is anything to go by, then tomorrow's show is going
to be a real corker.
