Huffer hooks them in

Rarely has fishing seemed so cool.

Huffer took fashion off-site Friday night, and transformed Princes Wharf in Auckland into a catwalk. Models strutted their stuff, while fishermen decked out in orange jackets cast their lines into the sea.

Huffer's winter 2009 range featured swandri-style jackets, woolly hats with pom poms, scarves, knapsacks and more.

The colours were reasonably sedate: green and blue pieces topped off with mustard scarves and hats.

It was the first range this week that really seemed to knuckle down against the cold. This was no doubt due in part to the setting, which seemed more Westport than Auckland's CBD.

The merry crowd seemed to approve, offering rapturous applause to the designers as they  walked down the catwalk. However, it all took a turn for the worse when the Huffer crew threw prizes into the crowd which caused a bleeding nose!

My colleague pointed out that perhaps, given Huffer's 'everyman' appeal, it would have been nice to feature models that reflect this idea. If any brand could pull this off, it's Huffer.

The range was infinitely wearable, as one would expect of Huffer, and should please fans of the Kiwi brand.
