Andrea Moore

Andrea Moore knows a thing or two about colour!

It's always refreshing to see strong, bold colour on the catwalk. Rich jewel tones in pink and red stood out, as did the combinations of mustard, purple, orange and grey. The palette was bright and anything but sombre!

We saw lots of printed wrap dresses and dresses that had been cinched in at the waist with an obi-style belt.

The bright peacock blue coat stood out, as did the blue cowl-necked oversized knit. The dark navy velvet dress shows us that velvet is always a favourite for winter. Andrea's clothes actually look warm enough to wear during the colder months.

Andrea does a great coat and there was a good selection to choose from.

As far as blue velvet shorts are concerned, Andrea's version looked like they could actually be flattering on!

Accessories can make or break a look and are always super important especially in a catwalk show. We did think that the accessories looked a tad on the cheap and nasty side especially the shiny fake plastic patented "mock croc" belts and bags etc.

Andrea doesn't push the boundaries in fashion. She creates clothes that the average New Zealand women would wear and there is always a big market for this.

COOP

This new emerging label creates clothes for the younger set: 90's style fitted body-con dresses, tight leather pants and extremely short mini skirts worn back with shrunken leather jackets or cropped faux fur jackets.

Geometric and marble prints in soft floaty fabrics with a colour palette of nude, grey, steely blue, khaki and mainly black featured heavily throughout the collection. Soft floaty silk tunic dresses contrasted to the harder more rock'n'roll inspired pieces.

There was more than a nod to Alexander McQueen in several looks that floated down the catwalk.

Many of the tight, short fitted dresses were designed for wearing to a party; the racy, one-shouldered black lace number, the asymmetric fuchsia dress and also the red suede dress that had interesting back cut-outs and detailing.

A few looks won't be making it on to real women we think! Namely the shiny leather bike pants or the fuchsia velvet hotpants with the lace edging: definitely not a flattering look for all of us!
