Phil Vine has been a journalist for 20 odd years - the last ten on television.
As a journalist for BBC World, ITV, Phil has reported from some far-flung and dangerous corners of the world, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Afghanistan, East Timor, Timaru.
His work as a correspondent and producer on 20/20 in New Zealand has earnt him a couple of Qantas Awards. One of the most notable stories, the unmasking of Christchurch deputy mayor Morgan Fahey as a GP who drugged and raped his patients.
In Southern Mexico Phil broke the story of the Zapatistas for the BBC just before the revolutionary army staged an uprising and made world headlines.
Outside of work Phil is also heavily involved in the International Red Cross and has carried out two missions for them to the earthquake struck city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia as well as a spell at headquarters in Geneva.
Partnered with two children Ruben and Natasha, he still has a
soft spot for dance music and when its quiet and no-one's around he
sometimes pretends he's a writer.
