There are some TV ads that seem like they're burned into our subconscious. At the slightest provocation we find we can sing, word for word, that jingle or catchphrase from a long ago campaign to sell us butter or Kentucky Fried.

More often than not they're ads from our childhood.

Odds on the one that will be added to the collective memory of this generation's kids is the "Get a perm Doug" from the Instant Kiwi ads.

We did a pop quiz round the office and some of the favourites were&

"It won't happen over night, but it will happen" (Thanks Rachel)
"Hugo said you go" KFC
"Trust British Paints & sure can!"
"Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate & tastes like chocolate never tasted befooore."

But enough from us & we want to know, in fact see and hear, what jingles and catchphrases you remember! As part of the 2009 Ad Awards show we would like you to record and send us your re-creations of your favourites.

And of course the video deemed to be the BEST will be played during the Fair Go Ad Awards show on September 30.

All you have to do is record yourself, your friends or your family performing a rendition of your favourite ad jingle of all time. You can keep it simple and just sing or you can get in the spirit and turn it into a full re-creation.

Once it's all recorded you can get it to us in two ways:

1) Upload your video to YouTube and send us the link to fairgo@tvnz.co.nz subject line - Fave Jingle
2) Record your video onto DVD and post it to us:
Fair Go,
Private Bag, Auckland Mail Centre
Auckland.

We will put as many of the videos as we can on our Facebook fan page where you can comment on your favourites and share them with your mates.

We'll also select some of our favourites to go right here on our official tvnz.co.nz page.
