Check out the Boost Vert Ramp at the Big Day Out
Organisers of New Zealand's ultimate alternative music festival - the Big Day Out - today announced an amazing line-up of top local and international athletes ready to go huge on the Boost Vert Ramp this Friday (January 17, 2003).
Truly big air is expected from some of the country's biggest name skaters, inline and BMX riders with freestyle demonstrations starting from 11.00am and running until 8.00pm on the Big Day Out, at Ericsson Stadium in Penrose, Auckland.
Boost - a mobile phone brand which supports New Zealand skate, snow and surf culture - vowed to continue the Big Day Out tradition of providing spectacular visual entertainment for lovers of hip hop, dance and alternative rock with a 48ft high vert ramp for the athletes to ride. Boost's own team of skaters include Chey Ataria, Secombe Watene and New Zealand's number one girl skater Georgina Matthews.
Confirmed vert masters for the Big Day Out are Renton Millar and James Kennedy, both of Australia, and New Zealand's own legend of the vert ramp Andrew Morrisson along with Nick Clegg and Jason Parkes among others.
Joining the elite skaters will be winners of this year's Big Day Out Skate Off, held in Auckland on Sunday.
There'll also be a top line-up of BMX riders impressing the crowds and inline skaters.
The Boost Vert Ramp will be situated in the grassy area in view of the main stage at the event, meaning fans can watch the best in extreme action to the backdrop of sounds from the biggest acts.
