She claims she's got the world's largest bust - and she's in Auckland for the Boobs on Bikes parade.

American "entertainer" Chelsea Charms' breasts weigh nearly 12 kilos each and go by the names "Itsy" and "Bitsy".

Chelsea claims they are the biggest in the world, going by breast to waist ratio, and are the product of polypropylene breast implants, which make them continually grow.

"They irritate the inside of the breast pocket and, through that irritation, it just tells your body to start pumping fluid into the breast pocket. So, you just build up with serum in your breast pocket," she told Close Up's Hannah Ockelford.

When Chelsea had the procedure done nine years ago, it was medically experimental. The procedure is now banned in the US.

Chelsea says women are curious when they see her.

"(Women) go right away to, I think, the practical side of things. They're wondering about my back, they're wondering where I get my clothes from and where I find my bras, whereas the guys, they go to the naughty thoughts."

Chelsea says she had a fascination from a young age with adult stars who had big breasts.

"I think it's very feminine ... it's just a girly, feminine thing."

Even though she says they are fun, the reality is that Chelsea has ongoing medical care because of the size of her breasts.

"I get them drained periodically, just to kind of lighten my load for a while," she says.

And Chelsea understands her bust is not everyone's cup of tea.

"It's not for everyone, especially not to this extreme, but it's different and that's the good part. You don't want to be like everyone else," she says.
