Richard Taylor's Weta Workshop has already ticked off feature film and animation as achievements - now it can add fine art exhibition to the list.
It is taking a series of paintings and collectibles to display in China.
At a media conference in Wellington, the creators from Weta Workshop revealed "Dr Grordbort's" collectibles, which will make up the travelling exhibition.
Dr Grordbort is the brainchild of Greg Broadmore, with the works starting as paintings on his lounge wall.
Weta has turned his ideas into books, animation and collectibles, not to mention ray guns by the name of righteous byson indivisible particle smashers.
"Weta workshop is a place that really embraces youthful enthusiasm for inventions, creativity, innovation and that's an important part of the way we as a country move into the future," says Taylor.
The proceeds from the China exhibition will go towards relief for those left homeless in last year's Sichuan earthquake.
"We live now in the realm of ideas and so for this sort of work to be created and to be sent to China is hugely significant," says Chris Finlayson, Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister.
